Geoffrey Kent is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Abercrombie & Kent Group of Companies. Born in 1942 in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) , Geoffrey grew up on the family farm in the Aberdare Highlands of Kenya. His childhood was filled with the bush lore and drama of untamed Africa sowing the seeds which would develop into the two great passions of his life: a thirst to explore uncharted territory and the desire to excel.
At 17, Geoffrey succeed in traversing the continent from Kenya to Cape Town, South Africa becoming the first individual to complete the 5,000-mile route on a motorbike. After attending the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, Kent saw service in such far-flung countries as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen, Cyprus, Libya and Malta. His distinguished armed forces career was cut relatively short as a result of hearing damage from years spent in heavy tanks. In 1966, Geoffrey succeeded his father at the helm of A&K, a luxury safari operation in Nairobi. His energy, business acumen and foresight enabled the company to develop into internationally renowned luxury travel powerhouse that it is today, with over 60 offices worldwide.
In conjunction with Jorie Butler Kent, Geoffrey founded Friends of Conservation, an international organisation seeking to preserve the world's endangered natural environment, marshalling local support to find rational solutions to ecological problems. Responsible tourismis integral to the A&K company philosophy. In October 2006, Geoffrey Kent was appointed Chairman of the WTTC, the chief forum for business leaders in the Travel & Tourism industry. He is also a Council member of the Prince of Wales's Business Leader's Forum.
Educated at St Columba's School, Delhi, and Mayo College, Ajmer, he earned a commerce degree from Hansraj College in Delhi before flying off to southern California to do an MBA. He was only 22 when he completed his studies and as with every young man, he too was faced with the unenviable task of choosing a fruitful career.
Eventually, he settled for banking and worked with Citi Financial, a part of Citigroup, in America for four years. It was a boring job and it was boredom, along with an urge to return home that saw him board a flight to India in 1985. With four years of banking behind him he could carry on as a banker in India, if there were no other options.
However, consumer banking was then only arriving in India, and he soon realised that the work standards he was accustomed to in the US would take some time to hit our shores. Not wanting to take a wrong step, he spoke to his friends in Delhi before zeroing in on the hospitality industry as he thought hoteliering would be a far more interesting job.
So Taj Hotels it was. Starting off as a sales executive, he rose within the ranks, to leave the company after four years as a product manager. Next he worked with the Oberoi Group as a marketing manager and spent eight long years there to become a corporate director before he decided to quit the industry altogether.
The reason for quitting the hospitality industry was that he wanted to sell destinations to clients. "Hoteliering didn't let him do that and realising that tourism was only beginning to take flight in India, he crossed over once again to join Abercrombie & Kent India in 1997. Tourism was his next playing field and he had justification for industry hopping - "Be it banking, hospitality or tourism, he has always remained a services' person. That's the sector he began with, and that's where he shall continue for a good 20 years more.

Amit is a Post Graduate in International Management, besides a host of other professional qualifications to include International Travel and Marketing certificate, Qualified Trainer in Travel Operations, Respective Airline & IATA Agency Training programme certificates & diploma, and Destination specialist certificates by respective tourism boards.
Amit is a regular at the prominent Industry Fairs & expositions and has travelled widely, both nationally and internationally.
Sadhana has an extensive experience in Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Her last assignment was with IDFS as Head of Marketing, where she worked with premium airlines like Jet Airways, Air India and Kingfisher Airlines, to enhance their inflight experience through seamless duty free sales, and prior to that, she was working with Paramount Airways, for a while. However, her major experience has been with Jet Airways where, she worked for over a decade. At Jet, as a part of the start- up team she had the opportunity to make strong relationships in the trade and corporate markets,and to pick up the nuances of the trade. During her career, she has not only had the opportunity to work extensively in the North India market, but additionally in Hyderabad and Chennai, as well.
At A&K India Sadhana is responsible for Sales and Marketing activities on a pan-India basis. The focus will be to grow the A&K brand in the luxury segment, and create new engagements through alliances and partnerships.
Naina Malika Williams joined A&K in September 2012. She comes with 20 plus years of work experience, having started her career very early in life in 1988. She joins A&K from American Express, where she managed the relationship with Travel Partners for South India such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore & Cochin.
Her previous assignment required her to interact with Travel Partners across South India and develop a business relationship with them.
Naina's strength lies in her ability to excel in change management, create & maintain a motivated team, forging strong business relationships with airlines / hotels / corporates & internal clients, leveraging resources to ensure customer satisfaction. she handles her clients in a meticulous & organized manner.
She has in her past experience single handedly handled various travel arrangements & ground arrangements for exhibitions such as Indo Expo & Indo Durban Expo in Durban, Indo Cape Expo in Cape Town, Rand Easter Show in Cape Town & Durban. She also handled the ground arrangements for the prestigious FICCI Ladies Delegation to South Africa in 1996.
She is responsible for Sales & Marketing activities for A&K in South India.
Diana is a highly determined and self-motivated individual with over six years of experience in Sales and Marketing.
She plays a key role in promoting Abercrombie & Kent India's Private Travel initiative to promote our Global product & destination portfolio in the India Outbound Luxury segment. She is responsible for all Sales & Marketing related efforts for our new division.
Monika is associated with A&K India outbound travel since last 4 years and excels in personalized service to the discerning clients seeking to savor one of A&K's inspiring journeys.
She has vast experience in understanding the requirements of clients seeking unique and authentic experiences to destinations worldwide and designing bespoke travel programmes according to the needs. During the total experience span of 7 years plus in travel trade, she has gained good destination knowledge and negotiating skills with suppliers and responsible to deliver desired services and holiday experiences to A&K Elite clients.
Academically, Monika is a graduate in Computer Applications and holds Post Graduate degree in Tourism from renowned AICTE approved institute.
Gopika is a marketing professional with strong abilities in devising Marketing, Advertising and Communication programs with hands on approach in developing websites, graphic designing, digital marketing, event advertising, public relations and social media marketing. Her previous assignments have been with prominent corporate organizations in India.
Academically, Gopika is pursuing her Master's in Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Design, and is a Graduate in Commerce from the Delhi University.
She is responsible for developing, executing and delivering A&K's digital/online marketing strategy, social networking media management , review performance of A&K website and also managing A&K's proposed online marketing projects.
Umang has 6+ years of experience in the Travel Industry having a hands-on experience in Outbound Sales &Operations, including contracting, product development, customer service, international air travel, forex and visas.
At A&K he will be responsible for file sales & operations which includes co-ordination with A&K DMC's, EUP's and other 3rd party suppliers in order to ensure seamless service to travellers.
Having graduated in Mathematics,Umang is pursuing PGDM in International Business.
Aman is young and enthusiastic gentleman seeking a challenging career in the field of Tourism, with particular emphasis on Outbound.
He has close to three years working experience as Operations and Sales support executive in the Luxury Travel segment of the industry.
Academically, Aman has completed his Graduation from the Delhi University with a Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
